NO PLACE compares to CEDAR KEY. The sunsets over the "back bay" are truly awesome, the atmosphere, the quaint little town, the shops and restaurants are breath taking. I assure you, you have never been in a more relaxed place. Cedar Key has nothing, YET it has everything! There are NO fast food places, NO traffic lights, no wild out-of-control crowds, and it is the neatest place you have ever seen. It is a charming place. A day on the pier, or walking one of the islands, or lying on a deserted pure white sandy beach will win your heart. The islands and the marsh, grass, trees and of course the water fowl and Pelicans will keep you company as you watch the Dolphins zip around the many natural feeding areas.

There's nothing like a "country breakfast" at a little cafe, sitting outside watching the morning come alive, having coffee sitting at a table covered with a red & white checkered table cloth, 1950's style. There might be a sea bird on top of the table next to you waiting for a hand out.

There is no hurry to do anything there, and RUSH is NOT an option. CASUAL is the word for the day, and relaxation is the normal mood you'll be in. There are NO STRANGERS in Cedar Key. You would think you were among your friends.

Yes, if you want an induction to HEAVEN, then Cedar Key is the place to get just that. I have been going there 18 years now, and every trip, even today it is just as good as my first one. The ONLY draw- back of going there is you will NOT want to leave. When you do leave, you will also leave a part of your heart. Cedar Key is the place that time forgot, because it never changes and it is as beautiful and romantic as it was on my first trip 18 years ago. If I were to ever retire, I have no doubt where I would go. I KNOW, BECAUSE my HEART is ALREADY there!

Welcome to Cedar Key!

As you leave the Florida mainland, rich Gulf waters reflecting blue skies beckon you as birds float like petals over the marsh vista. Welcome to our island, a place where time stands still and allows you to enjoy the unique qualities of our coastal environment. Cedar Key is a quiet island community nestled among many tiny keys on the Gulf Coast of Florida. Long admired for its natural beauty and abundant supply of seafood, it is a tranquil village, rich with the almost forgotten history of old Florida. Step inside our website and stay awhile...
