Each year the Cedar Key Arts Center sponsors a dinner, silent auction and raffle to benefit children’s art activities in Cedar Key during that year. The main benefactor is the Children and Teen’s Summer Art program held in July. Other children’s art activities include an Art Club at Cedar Key School, a sewing group, and free art activities for children at the Seafood Festival and the Old Florida Celebration of the Arts Festival.
The Children’s Art Benefit Dinner evening begins with cocktails and music with an opportunity for participants to review raffle items and buy tickets and make bids on the incredible works of art donated by local artists for the silent auction. Dinner is catered by Peter Stefani of the Island Room, and includes delicious gourmet selections, as well as a vegetarian choice. Entertainment includes a showing of photos from the summer children and teen’s art program of some of the creative work the students produced. You will find it amazing!
Tickets for the dinner are sold at the Cedar Keyhole and at the post office on Saturday mornings in November and December. Only 100 tickets are sold. All proceeds from this event benefit children and teen art activities in Cedar Key.
Volunteers: The Children’s Art Benefit Dinner Planning Committee is always looking for volunteers to help prepare and host the event. If you would like to help sell tickets, decorate, help set up, clean up, bar tend or donate silent auction items (value of $50 or more), please contact the Arts Center President.
